Sinulog Fever Pre-Launcher

Sinulog fever may not officially start until after Christmas but the mardi gras spirit was felt last Saturday at the Cebu City Sports Center as the Sinulog Foundation staged the first activity in its calendar for the 2009 Sinulog.

The Sinulog Foundation, Incorporated hosted the Enhancement Conference of Sinulog 2009 for delegation heads, choreographers and cultural coordinators. The Sinulog beat was heard around the Cebu City Sports Center Dance Hall as the affair was also a dance workshop for first-time participants.

On top of the priorities during the daylong workshop, which started at 8:00 am, was the discussion of the general guidelines for next year’s Sinulog. The organizers laid out the minor changes in the competition rules that will take effect in this January’s festivity.

The dance workshop was aimed to bolster the performances of the participants during the Sinulog grand parade, while hoping to level the playing field as it taught the newcomers the tricks of the trade.

The gathering was also the avenue of fellowship for the Sinulog prime movers and grand parade participants.
