The SM Northwing grand launch

INTO THE SCENE - Han Kintanar -

It was a one-of-a-kind event when SM City Cebu formally launched The Northwing, recently. The Northwing is the high end area of SM City Cebu where one will find beauty and wellness centers, high quality and popular local and imported signature brands, which includes clothing, shoes, accessories, electronic gadgets, fine restaurants and what have you. Indeed, a welcome development to shopaholics, fashionistas and the techies.

The momentous and “classy” event was a perfect fit to the new shopping destination’s tastefully done interiors. The highlight was a fashion show featuring the masterpieces of the members of the Fashion Council of Cebu: Albert Arriba; Arcy Gayatin, Cary Santiago, Ditas Rodriguez, Felix Yu, Jun Escario, Minnie Yuvienco, Oj Hofer, Philip Rodriguez and Vania Romoff, and an exhibit of classic and rare vintage car collections of the Performance and Classic Car Enthusiasts of Cebu (PACE): Bobby Aboitiz, Chris Tio, Darren Deen, Grand Benedicto, Yong Larrazabal, Michael Lhuillier, Kenneth Cobonpue, Jay Aldeguer,Tony Lozada, Joseph So, Glenn Soco and Louie Uy.

The cars displayed included a 1957 Corvette Roadster, 1952 Triumph TR2, 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder, 1966 Pontiac GTO, 1961 Jaguar E-Type Roadster, 1965 Kougar Jaguar, 1978 Porsche 356A and a 1965 Corvette Stingray.   Such a downright impressive array.

No less than SM Prime Holdings’ President Hans Sy graced the event with SM “biggies” namely Marrissa Fernan and Jenjen Amigo, among others. Congratulations, SM!
