Celebrating Iris

“The weather was exactly the same as last year!” everyone exclaimed. But despite the fierce winds and erratic showers, close friends reconvened to celebrate her day—with an altitude!

Dressed in a sexy deep purple number, thirty-something Iris Marie Ponce greeted everyone who arrived with contagious vivacity and zest that one could almost forget the gloom outside the home of host Matti Aznar atop the opulent residences of Alta Vista village. Exactly! It was one chilly evening on the heights with some cool company. The theme for the occasion? Sky-high fun! And a little relaxation too, as the celebrator brought in a traditional masahista to service guests under “stress” and a card reader to foresee their not-so-distant future. My, oh my, did the men take a toll on the fortune teller. She almost lost her third-eye.

It was a reunion of sorts for everyone present; for me, especially, as I met old friends and also gained some new ones. Of course, over a bountiful meal were good music, cocktails and a lot of getting to know and catching up. Until next time, guys (hopefully sooner) and more cheers for Iris!
