History

After several years of negotiations and finally construction, the theme park opened on September 12, 2005. Disney avoided problems of cultural backlash by incorporating Chinese culture, traditions and customs in the design and concept including adhering to the rules of Feng Shui.

Hong Kong is one of only five locations in the world that is home to a Disney themed park. It is a whimsical world of imagination where enchanting stories and timeless places come to life right before your eyes. A visit here will take you from a fairy tale castle to an intergalactic mountain and to a world where you can see jungle elephants on an exotic river, snakes that hiss and bears that talk. Be photographed with beautiful princesses, and ride old-time taxis and space-age rockets, all in one day.

Travel back in time to the beautiful gas-lit streets of early l9th Century America. It is the first “themed land” inside the entrance of the many  magic kingdom style parks where  Sleeping Beauty Castle stands in the distance beyond the end of the street.

See all your favorite Disney friends like Mickey and Minnie, Donald and Goofy as they join a cheerful marching band and high-spirited dancers in this float-filled spectacular. Main Street is more than a mere conduit to the other enchantments. It’s where the spell is first cast.

Adventureland

Explore the exotic African jungles filled with mystery, intrigue and adventure. Furthermore, witness the vibrant colors and dazzling sounds of the amazing Broadway-style musical performance based on Disney’s animated masterpiece “The Lion King” which brings new life and energy to this classic tale.

Fantasyland

Walt Disney called this “a timeless land of enchantment.” Immerse yourself in a romantic fairy tale world where everyone lives happily ever after. Enjoy an awards show with fabulous performances from Disney’s animated classics like Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story and of course let’s not forget Mickey and friends.

Like the  animated classics  on which they are based, the rides which could ostensibly  be classified  as rides for children, are packed with enough delight to engage the adults who accompany them.

Tomorrowland

Step into the futuristic world of tomorrow where spaceships soar and alliens attack. Zoom at warp speed through the far reaches of the universe on this roller-coaster ride through the cosmos. With incredible synchronized music and sound effects, you never know what’s going to come next.

Children can take their parents for a ride at Autopia before having an encounter of the alien kind with mischievous blue life form Stitch. Fun for the whole family awaits at the UFO Zone. This interactive aquatic play area will see guests of all ages having fun under the sunny skies of Hong Kong as they dodge around water squirting robots and play among smoking spaceships.
