Café Laguna Now at SM Northwing

PEOPLE PLACES - Flor S. YNCLINO -

Boasting of a new and contemporary concept and maintaining that traditional Filipino cuisine and ambience, Café Laguna recently opened its fifth outlet at The Northwing, SM City Cebu.

Cebu City First Lady Margot Osmeña and Teresin Mendezona cut the ceremonial ribbon during the grand opening. A week before this, Fr. Soc Saldua blessed the elegantly decorated dining place. Owners, Dr. Ricardo Urbina and enterprising wife Lita Urbina were very much present although Lita was still in a wheelchair due to a freak accident.

Being ran by members of the Urbina family, all their children were present, too – Grace Absin, Raki Urbina, Jill Viado, Dr. Jet Canoy and John Paul Urbina. Drop by at the Café Laguna Northwing and savor the hundred and one menus they have for you. Remember, Café Laguna keeps Filipino heritage alive through their food.

In keeping with their promise, Aboitizland had its groundbreaking of The Persimmon, Cebu’s First Urban Village at the project site along M.J. Cuenco Ave. last July 18.

Heading the group of Aboitizland executives was President and Chief Operating Officer Andoni Aboitiz with VP for Sales and Marketing Pia Montecon, VP for Human Resources Development Nilda Ravina and Chief Finance Officer Stephen Tan, among others.

The groundbreaking ceremonies for the West Tower of Cebu’s First Urban Village signals the initial step towards a significant transformation of Cebu’s urban landscape – a transition into intercity convenience and accessibility.
