The Canadian Food Festival was launched at the lobby lounge of Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, together with the unveiling of the Inukshuk marker at the Garden Terrace and the farewell party for Senior Trade Commissioner Ellen Ruth Zeisler.
Last year, the Canadian Embassy held the 1st Charity Dinner at Marco Polo Plaza. The beneficiary was ERUF. Almost P250,000.00 was raised at the auction during the Charity Dinner. This was participated by Executive Chefs of five leading hotels in Cebu: Marco Polo Plaza, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, Alegre Beach Resort, Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa, and Hilton Resort & Spa.
This year, the second Charity Dinner will be held on August 16, 2008 (Saturday) at Hilton Resort & Spa to be participated by the same five Executive Chefs. Beneficiaries will be the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation, Inc. (ERUF) and ABS-CBN Foundation’s Bantay Bata 163.
