Alegre Beach Resort’s Executive Chef Martin Przewodnik joined the Canadian Embassy’s second Canadian Cook-Off in Manila last June 5. The challenge pitted Cebu’s Executive Chefs against their distinguished counterparts in Metro Manila.
Chef Martin, a German national, has been living in the country for 17 years and is married to a Filipina. He has three children.
Born to a cooking family, Martin imbibed a passion for cooking. After taking up Culinary Arts from the Hotel and Catering College in Weidenau, Germany, he started his working career in Germany and embarked on a luminous culinary career that brought him to Malaysia, China and the Philippines.
Martin describes his style of cooking as modern and innovative. He finds inspirations on fruits and vegetables he sees for the first time and concocts imaginative dishes out of them. One of his masterpieces is clay-baked beef, a gastronomic delight that’s very popular among the resort’s guests.
