Crunch Crunchicken

- Annie Hazel D. Basada, UP Communication Arts Intern -

In search for the best fried chicken? Andy's Crunchicken is the answer!

Andy's Crunchiken is named after Andy Caro, who started a canteen business in Manila back in 1986. However, when Andy died, his daughter, Anna Caro-Chua moved to Cebu and continued her father's business, Anne targeted school canteens. Right then, the crunchy Crunchicken recipe Anna inherited from her father became a hit that they even got bookings for parties outside the schools they were servicing.

In 2003, Andy's Crunchicken opened a take out counter to accommodate their increasing customers. By 2005, they expanded and started accepting franchisees. Today, Andy's Crunchicken has eight branches in Metro Cebu, namely: MEPZ 2, Robinsons Supermarket at the Banilad Town Center, Marina Mall, Gaisano Tabunok, Sky Rise Bldg., at the I.T. Park, CP Center Building, One Mango Mall and in Lapu-Lapu City. A new branch, the ninth, is set to open this month at the Elizabeth Mall.

Crunchicken also has a branch at Robinson's Cagayan de Oro. Anna said negotiations are also ongoing for franchise outlets in Dumaguete and Zamboanga.

Apart from their bestselling crunchy chicken, Andy's Crunchicken also offers meal combos such as the Sulit Busog meal and Jumbo-sog meal. They also have spagheddy, manok sandwich (chicken patty and creamy filling), and crunchee burger (chicken and creamy mayo filling). They also serve desserts such as choco mousse and mango float, and sidings such as macaroni salad, coleslaw, and potato salad.
