HSBC's Chinese New Year Bash

On hand to warmly welcome and meet the bank’s premier customers who were dressed in their finest Chinese inspired attires as the invite requested, was tall and distinguished new President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Watkinson and his charming wife Sarah. They were joined by Johanna Garcia, Vice president, Group Communications and the hard working Vice President and Premier Business Head Debbie Dy.
Cymbals and drums accompanied the traditional dragon dance as it marked the opening of the Mactan Ballroom where food stations strategically located, served delectable dishes from dumplings and noodles, to stir fried specialties prepared by Chinese Chef Kenny Yong.
In his brief remark, Watkinson reiterated the bank’s commitment to the well-being of the communities wherein it operates. He encouraged everyone to know more about HSBC, considered to be one of the world’s most successful banking and financial services institutions.
In its work in the community, HSBC has focused on education for underprivileged children and the environment. While it considers other causes, the Bank aims to concentrate at least 75 percent of its charitable funding to these two areas.
Though only a few months in this country, Mark Watkinson, has already made his self-motivated presence felt. He is committed to conduct business with a sense of responsibility, integrity and transparency.
The highlight of the celebration was the swinging performance by the country’s foremost rock and roll king RJ Jacinto who created a lively ambiance, ensuring a good time for all. Spirits were high and everyone celebrated the Chinese New Year dancing till late.
