High Wire Event Planner, spearheaded by the University of the Philippines - Cebu Management students, is bringing to the Queen City of the South a premier fashion event entitled Lés Couturiers. The activity will showcase the creations of the nifty fashion designer, Harley Ruedas of the Harley Ruedas Boutique and Company. With the theme: “Local Colors, Emerging Talents,” the activity will also bring together promising young designers (Harvey Cenit and John Rey Escario) to present their very own unique designs befitting the style of the new generation. Models from MAC (Model’s Association of Cebu) led by Ms. World 2004 Runner-up and Queen of Asia and Oceania Karla Bautista, as well as other beauty queens, title-holders, and professional models, will be strutting various new design collections, ranging from casual apparel, promenade and evening gowns, and bridal gowns.
This fashion event, which is expected to be one of the highlights of the local fashion industry for 2008, will be held on the Friday evening of March 14 at the SM Entertainment Center, and is to be directed by esteemed fashion enthusiast, advertising, stage, music, and creative director Mr. Edwin Ao. In the spirit of social responsibility, a percentage of the proceeds will go to Sto. Niño Children’s Center, a local orphanage currently sponsored by MAC.
