The celebration of Goodwill Cebu’s 25th Founding Anniversary brought many happy memories of how this organization has succeeded in the training of persons with disabilities, and developed into what it is now.
The occasion also brought many distinguished guests from Goodwill Industries International, headed by no other than its International President George W. Kessinger, and a host of other presidents and CEO’s from other Goodwill organ-izations in America, like: John Latchford, President/CEO, Goodwill Industries of Greater East Bay, Oakland, California; Kimberly Scafano, Senior Director on Community and Fund Development, Goodwill Industries of Greater East Bay, Oakland, Ca.; Don Hiruo, Goodwill Industries International Development Director; Kanittha Dhevinpukdi, Chairman of Goodwill Thailand; Meg Mall, Goodwill International Development Specialist and Deb Lagger of Goodwill Northeast of Ohio, and others.
It was a trip worth traveling for as the Goodwill VIP’s have seen the modern, new facilities blessed and inaugurated during their three-day visit to Cebu. They were not only impressed by what they saw but enjoyed the warm Filipino hospitality they received in the many festivities prepared for them. It was a great expe-rience they will long remember about Cebu and the Philippines!

In celebration of their 40th wedding anniversary and the baptism of their first grandchild, Vincent Gabriel M. Avanzado (son of Dr. Ting and Grace), Nestor and Gingging Morelos will have a Thanksgiving Mass and Baptismal ceremony at the Chapel of the Archbishop’s Residence on Sunday, January 13 at 10:30 in the morning. The 13th happens to be the birthday of Gingging also. Hitting three birds with one stone, isn’t that g-r-e-a-t? Anyway, lunch reception will follow at the Laguna Garden Café Ballroom.
