The Parklane Glow

- Ardelle Merton -

In the four-star hotel’s glamorous brand launching last October 26, Manuel Ting, the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Parklane International Hotel, formally unveiled and presented to the guests the hotel’s brand: Parklane’s five-petal flower that represents his five children.

During the brand launching, the hotel’s General Manager, Cenelyn Manguilimotan, said that with their international brand finally launched, Cebu Parklane International Hotel “will not cease to upgrade our facilities to better our service.”

The hotel started operations July last year but formally launched its brand last October 26 in a grand event that had guests walking on red carpet fashion amidst a deluge of camera flashes and smiley welcoming staff – making every entrance fit for a star. The grand hall was alit with shimmering blue and silver down to the minuet details, including drinks coupled with blue-colored lemons. Guests were treated to a culinary feast fit for royalty (compliments to the Parklane chefs!).

Department of Tourism Secretary Joseph “Ace” Durano was a special guest during the party and in his speech, Durano said that the establishment of the hotel has once again showcased the Cebuano’s entrepreneurial talent, which not only provides an opportunity for business and employment but also helps the local tourism industry to “compete and win in the global economy. We are celebrating an inspiring vision and boldness of action…with the permission of Mr. Manuel Ting, I would like to carry the Cebu Parklane brand in promotions around the world.”

Songbird Nikki Gil was the dazzling guest performer, serenading the audience with her widely popular version of “Breaking Free” from the phenomenal pop culture hit High School Musical.

During the Asean Business and Investment Summit in December 2006, the hotel allocated 170 rooms for foreign media delegates from Korea and Australia. Meanwhile, 50 percent of the hotel’s 230 rooms were occupied by Korean and Australian crew and embassy staff during the 12th Asean Summit.

With the hotel in full operation and with their brand now firmly imprinted in Cebu’s hotel and tourism industry, we can truly expect world-class accommodations and service for our global guests at Parklane International Hotel.
