Expanding Horizons

At the blessing of the new Ayala Center Cebu Expansion Building, party planner and chic lady Teresin Mendezona propped an exquisite set up in sync with the event. I’m referring to a soft and sophisticated new horizon that blended well with the rest of Ayala Center Cebu’s sprawling expanse.

Equally chic shops like Chocolate, Espada, Space, Regatta, Bleach Catastrophe, Simon, Nike Women, Kashieca and Milk and Co. with accessories and maquillage from Samsung Sony Ericsson, Sun Cellular, VMV Cosmetics which provided 20 models from M.A.C.>Models Association of Cebu with their latest (and needless to say, chic-est) collections as styled by Edwin Ao and Mikee Sanchez. The fashion walk drew excitement from the shop owners, Ayala executives and special guests in attendance. Very visible were Elvira Stehr in an Op Art dress from Chocolate and Karla Bautista in a black twin set and trousers from Espada. Menswear saw “rocker chic” from Bleach Catastrophe on Giancarlo Berdin and graphic shirt and lean trousers from Simon on Gabriel Ariosa. Nike Women proved to all that even in sweats, style along with comfort, is essential on bubbly models Guia Chua and Blinky de Leon.

Indeed, the Cebuano market has caught the luxury fever as plush labels are rushing to open lavish retail outlets in the new Ayala Center Cebu Expansion Building. Case in point are shops like Mango and those abovementioned brands which are de rigueur for the urban shopper. Giving embodiment and coordination to the Fashion Walk was Ms. Mai Regner of Ayala Center Cebu with the tutelage of prolific director Junjet Primor whose skill and proficiency in the aesthetic field has never waned.
