Mon and Karla

Finally, the long wait is over.What probably was the most awaited event for both the Fernandez and Kintanar families happened last July 8 when Ramon Sadaya Fernandez tied the knot with Karla Agapita Boholst Kintanar.Ramon “El Presidente” Fernandez is the son of the late Jose and Beatriz Fernandez while the bride is the youngest child and only daughter of Vicente “June” Jr. and Lee Kintanar.

The couple chose to hold their momentous day in a venue close to their hearts…home of Zamboanga – Sibugay Gov. and Mrs. George Hofer in Greenplains Subdivision, Banilad.For Karla, she spent her fondest childhood years strolling in its garden with our beloved Lola Titang (Señora Agapita Alcazaren Kintanar) whom she was named after.Our Lola Titang must have been very happy looking down her garden which was transformed into a magnificent haven by our mom Lee’s handiwork of love, the beautiful landscape and the very dramatic flower arrangements.It was also where our cousins, Jet and Cong. Ann K. Hofer threw splendid parties with cousins and friends.For Mon, it is as special too as he has developed close relationships with the family.Fact is, he frequents Zamboanga – Sibugay like his second hometown!

Guests were enthralled by the impressive renditions of light opera and broadway members by artist Bimbo Cerrudo and the mesmerizing music of Acoustic Jive’s Romy Jorolan.Things turned out the way Mon and Karla wanted it to be… “simple but special.” Program hostess—our very vibrant aunt, Cora Ann Kintanar—perked up the party with her witty spiels.People closest to the couple were all accounted for.Mon’s wonderful kids, Paco and Miguel with wife Janine, flew in to share the special occasion with the couple.Making it doubly-meaningful was the presence of the newly-elected Mandaue City Mayor, the Hon. Jonas Cortes, who solemnized the wedding and who, admittedly, excited everyone!The youthful and dynamic mayor also disclosed that it was for him one “unforgettable” event as it was his first time to officiate in a wedding since he became Mayor.Cebu City Mayor Tommy Osmeña also graced the affair with Vice Mayor Michael Rama and Cong. Raul del Mar.Three special people in the couple’s lives led the toast:Atty. Baldomero Estenzo, the groom’s brother Carlito Fernandez and the bride’s father, our dad, former Cebu City Councilor and Vice Mayor June Kintanar.Standing as witnesses were the couple’s friends and family who, in Mon’s words, “have touched our lives in the most significant way”:Mandaue City AdministratorAtty. Alegrado.Friends of the couple who are based in Manila are honoring them with a party there next month.Mon and Karla chose to be based in Cebu and are to avail of a friend’s (also of the family’s) honeymoon gift, a trip to Singapore and the United States.
