The BF Alumni Shindig

Perla Agudo Peterson who, for a long time was conspicuously absent from the Cebu scene has come back armed with the will to revive the almost-forgotten Bachelors-Femina Clubs. So what she did upon her return was to contact former officers and members of the club. And presto…Perla who was a very active president during her term, was able to gather a lot of "guys and dolls" who were just as enthusiastic as they used to. And one of the Feminas was Chinggay Utzurrum who helped Perla and Annie Limtong Neri organize an affair to gather members of the Bachelors-Femina club.

And so, a full moon ago, a Valentine’s Alumni Reunion was held at the Casino Español de Cebu. The ballroom was packed to capacity and the space for dancing was never empty everytime dancing music was played. Because of the fad for ballroom dancing, even the non-members enjoyed dancing while others who didn’t bring dancing instructors (DIs) enjoyed people watching.

Belle of the night was Jane Young Llaban with her dancing partner as she did reality-exhibition. Light-footed as she has always been, Jane showed her prowess in dancing – any dance for that matter.

For us, it was an evening of fun worthy to be repeated anytime soon.

Balikbayans Jessie and Ginna Rama with children Isabel and Vicente were in town to visit kith and kin after so many years of absence from their land of birth. Jessie is the brother of Vice Mayor Michael Rama while Ginna hails from Ormoc City. Reason for the family stayed longer in Ormoc so their children could see and experience how beautiful Ormoc is, with a lot of beaches to boot. Jessie and his family are residents of Anaheim, California, and everytime we are in the states, we never miss to be with them especially in all affairs in Letty Du’s Temecula parties.

To Jessie and Ginna, hope you had a wonderful time in your three-week stay in the Philippines!
