Great Science experiments

Do try this at home, it’s fun! Amaze your family and friends. Here is a step-by-step guide to some six great science experiments.
Turn Bread Into Sugar
You will need one slice of regular white bread. Take a bite and chew and when the bread turns to mush, don’t swallow – just go on chewing. After a few moments, you will notice that the bread begins to taste sweet. This surely does cut down your sugar content.
Matchstick Speedboat
You will need one matchstick, a knife, a bowl of water and some washing liquid. Cut the matchstick along its length to make a Y-shape, and then float in a bowl of water. Add a drop of washing liquid to the split end and you’ll see your matchstick whiz across the water. A cooler and cheaper version of a bath toy.
Make Sugar Glow In The Dark
You will need sugar lumps, pliers and a pitch-dark room. Wait for around two minutes for your eyes to adjust to the darkness of the room. Then crush the sugar cubes with the pliers and enjoy the light show. This is actually brilliant!
Confuse Your Senses
You will need water, a few ice cubes and three large bowls. Fill one bowl with cold water and a few ice cubes, and then fill another bowl with warm water and the last with hot water. Put one hand in the hot water and the other in the cold water and keep them there for a minute or two. Then plunge both hands in the bowl of warm water. You will notice that the one that’s been in the hot water feels cold and one in the cold water would feel hot. Let your children question you about this and don’t be too surprised to why you’ve just confused them.
Your Brain
You will need a swivel chair and a friend. Sit on the chair and bend your head down so that one ear is covered by your shoulder, then stick your legs out and get a friend to spin you around for about 20-30 seconds. Stand up and try to walk. You will probably stagger forwards and backwards instead of sideways. Funny, but definitely not recommended to people who suffer from extreme migraines!
Freeze A Drink With Instant Ice (the best one so far)
You will need one unopened bottle of fizzy drink (not can), a few ice cubes and salt. Crush the ice and layer it with salt. This makes an instant mini-freezer, capable of reducing temperatures to minus degrees. Put the bottle on your "freezer" and cool it down to about minus 2 degrees Celsius. (Use a thermometer to check the temperature because the results might not turn out the same). Then unscrew the bottle-cap and let out some gas, but not the liquid. In less than 10 seconds, the liquid in the bottle will freeze! Nice one! Now, I wish that this was something I knew back in grade school – I would have definitely been an A-student in my science class.
Enjoyed that? Impressive isn’t it?
