The Bible is already a handy, user-friendly book... keeping us on track

If you think you are living a fantastic life, don’t muse that it’s all of your own making. There is an enveloping invisible power inspiring you to make things happen. You sense the presence of an extraordinary wonderment surging within you. Your success is there because, in the things you do, a directing force is responsible for it and keeping you on track.

Of course, it’s The Almighty cranking you up. He’s moving about you, energizing you and trailblazing a path for you. He wants to launch you on course for the right life. To handle that life well and make it meaningful, worthwhile and in full-throttle. He wants you to listen to His words and not to have the bright idea of figuring out things all by yourself.

Our stint on earth is a purposeful journey. It is not that we are predestined, but we are bound to go through it all the way. Since the trip takes quite a while, God has to see to it that along the way we will not be thrown off the track. He is as watchful lest we will make a wrong turn or a bad detour. That’s why He has this job of "keeping us on track." (Prov. 3:6)

As we traverse life, we should imbed impressive and creditable footprints along our trail. Remember that God is also keeping track of these marks. So, we should produce a lot of them and hope they will leave an impression in His heart. We must not lose track of the direction we are guided to. We simply follow the pathway of life, live up to its values and ideals, earn those good boy star stamps, and get on the trajectory to the realm above. This is life’s full context.

Just trust God. If you obediently trace the footpath laid out for you, not only will He keep you on track, but will also deliver to you grace and boon unlimited. "No good thing will be withhold from those who walk uprightly." (Ps. 84:11). As long as you are strong in your faith, every dream and aspiration of yours will come true. For God is a cheerful giver.

Looks like having trust in God can make all things possible. It is "through His strength" that we are able to. (Phil. 4:13). It is also "by His Spirit, and not by might or power," that we move mountains. (Zech. 4:6). What is might without chivalry? What is power without dignity? What is wealth without charity? We need the Spirit. We need His shepherding.

Seems we are just sitting back and letting God do all the work, as the above Testament quotations signify. Inasmuch as He does his part, we ought to do ours. He has readied for us an itinerary. We don’t have to set it. The Bible is already a handy, user-friendly book – a schoolbook, a prayer book, an instruction book, a handbook, a how-to-do-it book.

It teaches, guides and informs—all in one. All the pointers are there. Qualities such as goodness, righteousness, faithfulness, conscientiousness, trustworthiness. Feelings like love, tenderness, compassion, happiness, contentment. If you got these marks, then you’re on your way.

So, with that, let’s get on track and roll on to our destination. We will fear not if we are stopped in our tracks. God is there to see to it that we steamroller past it. We may miss the track, but He will show us the road again. We may do a prodigal, but He will fight for our return. We may leave ugly footmarks in our steps, but He will help us erase them.

See how dandy it is? All we have to do is just to stay on course and God will do the rest. Be glad, we have His promise of keeping us on track. Just remember, there is a track record that He has to check out.
