The Sandigan Foundation in Cebu was first organized in 1993 as a constituent chapter of the National Sandigan of the Philippines, Inc. With service as the cornerstone of the organization, the members are deeply involved in alleviating the plight of the poor and destitute through their charitable projects and spiritual services. This is a non-stock, non-profit organization geared towards the building of self-reliant and self-sustaining communities.
The mission and thrust of the organization is its response to appeal of their spiritual director His Eminence Ricardo Cardinal Vidal, to attend to the needs of the poor and needy. The members of the foundation set about their apostolic to work to feed the hungry, comfort the old and weak, visit the sick and bring relief and joy to the depressed. The officers are Dr. Julita Ortiz, reelected as the 4th president; Lucy Segura, vice president; Mila Cipres, secretary; Cynthia Bolliador, treasurer; Andrea Abellana, auditor; Bebe Alcoseba, PRO. The board of directors are Susan Calero, Primitiva Antigua, Teodula Tabelon, Joy Abing, Connie Ampalaya, Alejandra Guangko, Rudelina Pajares, Corazon Mercado and Belen Japson. Ever Garcia, chapter president and consultant is also the adviser to the club.
Jose Mari Chan gave a free concert for the St. Joseph Foundation, Inc. for the benefit of the different worthy and charitable undertakings of St. Joseph Foundation, Inc. The concert was held a the ballroom of the Casino Español de Cebu recently. The fundraising committee members are Annabelle Aboitiz, Ma. Isable Antunez, Carmen Cambell, Cristina Ebrada, Hazel Gonzales, Amparito Lhuillier, Annabelle Luym, Teresin Mendezona, Teresita Mendezona, Juliana Muertegui, Carmen Percedes and Rosario Sala. The officers are Amelia La'o, president; Maria Lourdes Aboitiz, treasurer; Lourdes Marquez, vice president and Barbara Pineda, secretary.
The Cordova Medical Mission 2007 will take place on January 16 to 18 at the Cordova Sports Complex. The theme is "Caring Hands Across the Sea". The sponsors are The World Medical Relief Incorporated, Downriver Filipino Association, Bautista B. Casquejo family, Rotary Club of Banilad Metro and Municipality of Cordova. Kenneth Casquejo is the coordinator.
