An Oktoberfest like none other!

When Marco Polo Plaza Hotel promises a fabulous party, you better believe they will deliver.

And so they did just that during the recent Oktoberfest held at the property's well-maintained outdoor gardens overlooking scenic Cebu.

On hand to warmly welcome the festive merrymakers was the hotel's personable General Manager Hans Hauri, ably assisted by hands-on public relations officer Yomi Verdan and the promising young executives Javier Sala, Kaye Luym and Marlou Abayon.

Guests were presented with their personal beer mugs as they assembled at the massive circus size tent ready to enjoy the evening's festivities.

Once the kegs were topped, the San Miguel beer did not stop flowing as efficient waiters delivered pitcher after pitcher of refreshing cold draft.

Several food stations strategically spread around presented an array of ham and German sausages such as Hungarian, cheese and veal cooked in every imaginable way. They were complimented with mashed potato, sauerkraut and salads.

On one side was a large assortment of fine condiments that included relishes, pickles, cheese and several mustards from Dijon to stone ground.

As expected, the popular apple struddle was the favorite among the many cakes and pastries offered for dessert.

The highlight of the evening was the fabulous Bavarian Sound Express, flown in directly from Munich who enthusiastically performed non-stop entertainment throughout the night. They delivered a huge repertoire of traditional German music that included polkas to a medley of popular 60's and 70's tunes. Band leader Robert Birnbrier was a stand-out with his lively saxophone solos.

Maris Mercado, Director of Sales and Marketing, Julie Najar, Front Office Manager and Dottie Adlawan, purchasing manager together with Yomi, Javier, Kaye and Marlou simply outdid themselves on the festive preparations that surpassed everyone's expectations.

Delighted General Manager Hans Hauri was all smiles throughout the evening.
