During the launching held at the Rotunda of the Limketkai Mall, Mayor Emano declared that Cagayan de Oro is now ready for foreign investors and tourists who will come to explore the city's thousand possibilities.
"I am proud to say that we are the most peaceful city in the country and we are indeed ready for the investments that will be coming over here," Mayor Emano proclaimed with enthusiasm.
Agreeing with Fr. Jose Villarin, S.J., president of the Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan, that Cagayan de Oro is Mindanao's pathway to the world, Mayor Emano underscored that Mindanao is the key to the realization of the national government's intention to progress.
"We must cease to be parochial in our vision for economic progress and instead work together to develop Mindanao because unless this happens, our country will never succeed in its intentions for development," Mayor Emano pointed out.
Meanwhile, the good mayor landed the strong support which the city government received from the local business community, which helped realize the Cagayan de Oro Firstbook.
Mayor Emano particularly thanked the men and women behind Promote CDO Foundation, Inc. through its president Mr. Rudy Menes, Dir. Eliza Pabillore of the provincial office of DTI and the Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc. (Oro Chamber) through its president Ruben Vegafria, and all those who have selflessly contributed their resources to realize the city's first coffeetable book.
The Cagayan de Oro Firstbook contains a comprehensive reference for understanding the inimitable character of the people of Cagayan de Oro, including personalities and institutions that have crafted the city as a bustling metropolis.
It also aims to allow the readers to gain a deeper appreciation of the local economics that has attracted both budding entrepreneurs and corporate giants to locate here.
The coffeetable book sells for P990 at the Mindanao Showroom along Cruz Taal-Capistrano Sts. or at the provincial office of the Department of Trade and Industry along Tiano-Gaerlan Sts., Cagayan de Oro City.
