Balladeer Rafael at Café Havana

It was a romantic evening at the Café Havana at the Ayala Lagoon area when Rafael Centenera was the main attraction singing Spanish songs and swaying to the Cuban beat while nursing a "mojito." We were just hypnotized! With such Latin favorite as "De Colores" and "Sin Ti" and Italian love songs like "Volare," all was perfectly lovely. Rafael can also sing pop hits amidst typically Cuban cuisine of ravioli and callos and Castro's cigar. The guests enjoyed the night. More power to you, Rafael Centenera.

Birthday greetings to Susan Calero, lovely wife of Paul Calero, who is celebrating her birthday tomorrow, September 10, with a dinner at the Grand Majestic Convention Center at seven in the evening. To dear Susan, happy birthday. Many more birthdays to come and God bless you.

The cute smiling princess Margaret Therese Mutia Tan who turned one and a half months old recently was christened at Sacred Heart Baptistry by Rev. Fr. Ernesto Javier, S.J. She is the daughter of Irvie and Tess Tan and the first granddaughter of Danny and Mayen Angbetic Tan.

Dr. Mila Castillo Espina, birthday celebrator, was honored by Cebu's socialite Amparito Lhuillier with a luncheon held at Chez Lucie French Restaurant. Mila organized the Amparito Lhuillier Educational Foundation that sponsors 25 to 30 scholars. The sumptuous luncheon was attended by Mayen Angbetic Tan, Flor Ynclino, Nelia Neri, Honey Loop, Jimmy Picornell and this writer. The food was carefully prepared and meticulously arranged by Amparito Lhuillier.
