Cebu Downtown Lions Club gets a twin

The Cebu Downtown Lions Club, voted as one of the outstanding club in district 301 B in more than 65 Lions clubs for six consecutive Lion Year, celebrated its 31st Charter Anniversary last July 7, 2006.

During its 31st Charter Anniversary, the new set of officers for the Lion Year 2006-2007 was inducted. At the same time, the club has twinning with the Lions Club of Sandakan Selingan, Sabah, Malaysia with their 20 Lions delegation attended the affair. It was held at the Ching Palace Restaurant, Salinas Drive, Lahug Cebu City.

Invited as guest speaker is Undersecretary of foreign affairs, Hon. Francisco L. Benedicto. The club has also inducted two new members. They were charged and inducted by Lion PDG Ben Yapjoco, MJF. The new set of club officers was inducted by PDG Ricardo Ong, PMJF.

Lion Angelina Ong, MJF, spouse of PDG Ricardo Ong, PMJF was reelected for the 3rd consecutive Lion Year as club president. Some other officers are: immediate Past President Francis Lee; first Vice President Victoriano Chua; second Vice President Dennis Lu; third Vice President Manuel Ong; Secretary Felisa Limkimso; Tresurer Esther Yu.

The incoming president, Lady Lion Angelina Ong, MJF is the treasurer of Limketkai, Inc. Cebu branch office. She finished her Chinese high school at Manila Chiang Kai Shek College on March 1957 and earned her Bachelor of Scinece in Mathematics & Physics at the University of Sto. Thomas, Manila on April 1959.
