Jonathan Enad's 'Udlot' in Bohol

-
"Udlot" is a painting exhibit of the Cebuano "Pride of Carcar", artist Jonathan Enad, which is to be held in Prince Rio's Display Center and Pueblo de Pamilacan Display Center in the dolphins and whale island of Pamilacan, Baclayon (Bohol). The artist's frameless art show will be the second in his art career.

The former youngest art student of the late "Tinong" Abellana and a former Fine Arts member in the U.P. College of Fine Arts called this show "Udlot" to describe his presence in the art - after 5 years of silence, he is now back!

"Katribu" (Enad's pen name) has decided to devote the remaining years of his life to his art, sharing his talent and skills to the out-of-school youth in our country as he continued to conduct lots of free art seminars in different places: Ormoc, Leyte, Panabo, Davao, Cagayan de Oro - and many more - before coming to Bohol.

This second charity show is for the Out of School Youth and less fortunate artists and talents of Pamilacan. The exhibit will feature all original paintings of the artist showing the bold, natural beauty of the island and the "loud" culture of the Filipino that is reflected by the people of this island.

This activity will be opened for viewing from June 10 - July 30, 2006.

After the exhibit, the artist will be considered as the island's official artist and will be authorized to display his art works in any display center of Pamilacan Island. He will also be recognized as the Island Art Exhibit/Activities in-charge to negotiate and approve any artist who may wish to exhibit his/her art works in the island.

The artist is currently in Tagum, Davao, for another art show negotiation in connection with the coming festival of Davao.

Jonathan "Katribu" wishes to dedicate this Pamilacan art show to the important people of his life whom he misses most. He also dedicates all of his tears and effort to Pacheco Enad, Ariel John Enad, Jonley Enad, Christian Enad and specially to the wonderful and beautiful person of his life and career, Shirley Enad. He is extending his thanks to his Mama Vising, his Papa Sim, brothers Gerry, John and Jesmar, sisters Mae Ebeth and Edjing and to his relatives and friends.

Jonathan also wishes to thank Mr. JR Pingkian (Prince Rio's Owner), Mrs. Mesiang Pinkian (Prince Rio's Manager) and Mr. William Soriano (Pueblo de Pamilacan manager and owner) for providing the artist a haven during his island stay as he captured the natural beauty of Pamilacan and its people. He is grateful to all people of Pamilacan Island who provided moral support.

He would like to tell the people of the island that without their warm support and accommodation, this painting exhibit would never have been realized as part of the coming Sandugo Festival of Bohol.
