Anna Maris Igpit: Ready for the World

She is ready for the world. But is the world ready for her? Specifically, is Poland ready for her? Anna Maris Igpit, vibrant and fresh at 18, aims to thaw the Polish winter as she competes in the Miss World 2006 Pageant in Warsaw, Poland, this December. "In a country populated by pale blue eyed blondes, Anna Maris Igpit's kayumanggi complexion and curvaceous body will definitely stand out," stated her mentor Karla Bautista. Add to the fact that her personality is as warm as any summertime in Cebu and Bohol, where she hails from.

"I never dreamed of going to a place like Poland; not in a million years!" quipped this charming lass from M.A.C.>Models Association of Cebu, whose vast experience in the runway armed her with the grace and confidence that got her the Best in Gown award and eventually the Bb. Pilipinas World title in the recently concluded Binibining Pilipinas 2006 Pageant. "Poland is a place that I only read about. So, from now until December, I will have a daily dose of what Poland is all about, it's people, it's culture and heritage. And the fact that the late Pope John Paul II was from Poland makes it more of a pilgrimage for a Catholic like me," she added.

A regular fixture in Cebu's fashion scene, Miss Igpit is a va va voom model who takes pride in her professional attitude towards her work, a distinctive trademark for all of the models from the Models Association of Cebu.
