A Testimonial Dinner for Chief Justice Davide

Former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Hilario G. Davide, Jr. was honored with a Testimonial Dinner and Programme by the Province of Cebu headed by Governor Gwen F. Garcia and Vice Gov. Greg Sanchez with the members of the Provincial Board.
In his speech, Chief Justice Davide (Jun to his hordes of friends and relations) mentioned how he was being criticized after he accepted his new post as Presidential Adviser for political reforms. He defended himself as not being a lapdog of the president but only for public service did he accept the new post. Held at the Social Hall of the Provincial Capitol, the affair was very well attended and the guests were entertained by an array of local entertainers who impressed everyone no end!
Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Vice President Noli de Castro will lead the sponsors during the wedding of Rene Carl Cayetano and Haidee Benedicto at Sacred Heart Church, 3:00 PM today with His Eminence Ricardo Cardinal Vidal officiating the nuptial rites. Rene Carl is the son of Renato L. Cayetano and Sandra S. Cayetano while Haidee is the daughter of Francisco L. Benedicto and Leontina L. Benedicto.
Cocktails and dinner reception will be at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Cebu City Waterfront Hotel and Casino .

"West Side Story Today" a play based on a concept by Jerome Robbins with Overall Moderator Fr. Anthony Morillo, OAR and directed by Dr. Mila C. Espina, will be presented on Feb. 15 & 16 featuring the ADRAC and ALLEF Scholars and friends. Venue is at the USJ-R Center for Performing Arts. "West Side Story Today" is adapted from the Bernstein-Robbins Broadway hit.
