Suroy-suroy Na Sad Ta!

Suroy Suroy Sa Sugbo Part II is underway. Under the leadership of our dynamic Gov. Gwen Garcia, we enjoin you to be with us for a 3days/2nights Package tour of the Southern cities of Cebu on Jan. 27-29, 2006. Last Jan. 7, a group of travel agents and tour operators attended a meeting called by Governor Gwen Garcia. With us were DOT Regional Director Dawnie Roa and Provincial Board Member and Chairman, Committee on Tourism, Agnes Magpale. It was a meeting well attended. As the Governor began to expound on her plans and how this project will benefit the towns and cities of Southern Cebu - with her enthusiasm and all out support - we saw no reason not to support her. The success of the first Suroy Suroy Sa Sugbo project inspired her to continue and her enthusiasm was infectious, to say the least. How can we not support it? We would be fools not to. The project will provide all the towns a chance to showcase the best that they have, and that deserves the support of every Cebuano who loves Cebu! A 3days/2 nights package tour is being organized by the Governor with the cooperation of the Cebu Association of Tour Operators' president Ms. Alice Queblatin. It is expected that the package will be SUPER CHEAP, and will include roundtrip motorcoach transportation, 2 nights' hotel accommodation, meals and food galore. Each town is ready to treat the guest with their best delicacies and provide welcome entertainment to the guest at all designated stops. Entrance fees and gratuities will also be included in the package. Assembly point will be at the capitol grounds and the group will visit Naga, Barili, Dumanjug, Ronda, Alcantara, Moalboal, Alegria, Badian, Malabuyoc, Ginatilan, Samboan, Santander, Oslob, Boljoon, Alcoy, Argao, Sibonga and Carcar within the 3-day period. This itinerary is being carefully studied to bring it to perfection, since it is expected that our balikbayan guests will want to take this opportunity to see Cebu at its best and at its cheapest. The number of guests will be limited, based on the availability of hotel rooms with standard tourist facilities, so I expect that there will be a rush for space. The Visayas - Mindanao Travel & Lifestyle Fair, a project of the Cebu Travel & Tours Association is now on its 4th year and the Cebu travel & tour stakeholders are getting ready for another big event this coming Feb. 17-19, 2006 at the SM City Trade Hall. Participants from the travel & tour industry from Cebu and the different regions, as well as from different Asean countries, will display and showcase their travel products.
