Denim shopping with Matteo Guidecelli
September 2, 2005 | 12:00am
At 15, Club Pen model Matteo Guidecelli has already been deemed by the local racing industry as the Philippine Karting Prince. A formidable and hardy competitor, this 5'8" Filipino-Italian racer has deftly managed to conquer a slew of championships, including 1st place finishes at the ICA Shell Open and JICA Asian Zone series.
It should come as no surprise then that Matteo - the 2004 Philippine Karter of the Year - prefers to spend his time away from the tracks in the calm confines of the mall, where he can while the time away shopping for the perfect pair of jeans.
There is only one shop Matteo turns to for the perfect pair, Penshoppe, which carries a wide array of styles under its trusted Denimlab label.
For someone with an active and athletic lifestyle like Matteo, jeans not only need to look good but have to be comfortable, as well. According to him, Denimlab jeans never fail to have a fit less than perfect, as they tend to flatter almost any body and enable the wearer to move around with ease and comfort. Made from a premium fabric, Denimlab brings out the best of the jeans' streaks or "whiskers" upon washing, and the more it's washed and worn, the better it looks.
As a product endorser and commercial model, Matteo leads a very high profile lifestyle, as proven by the number of billboards, print ads, and TV commercials that he has appeared in over the years. Looking good is therefore a necessity in his line of work. According to this young karting champ, he gets value for his hard-earned money. Aside from being comfortable, trendy and durable, they also sell at a reasonable price range: P700 to P1000 at the most, even for its premium denims. A great deal, indeed, for teenagers like him self.
Every time Matteo returns home from a leisurely afternoon of shopping in the mall, the first thing he grabs out of the bag is his new, trusty pair of Denimlabs which he hangs alongside his growing collection in his closet. Looking all the pairs he's accumulated over time, he feels satisfied with himself knowing that he purchased a premium pair of jeans, one that he knows will always fit right, look good, and catapult him on the fast lane.
