Shuvee Etrata wants to be a rom-com star
CEBU, Philippines — Shuvee Etrata, who was briefly back on home turf when she hosted the Cebu press conference of “Green Bones” in December, told The FREEMAN that for now, she feels more confident hosting than acting.
“I am still working on my acting. It's hard for me to act because I cannot give an authentic performance yet,” said the 22-year-old Cebuana, who is under the management of Sparkle GMA Artist Center. “With hosting, I can be myself. That's why I am more into hosting for now.”
But the Bantayan native is not closing her doors on acting. In fact, she is honing her skills through workshops so she can star in her dream genre.
“I really want to do a romantic comedy,” she shared.
One television series viewers can look forward to seeing her in is in the upcoming fantaserye, “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre.”
“I can't reveal what my specific role is, but she’s from the ‘new world,’” Etrata teased.
From going viral on TikTok to gracing TV screens as one of the hosts of “Unang Hirit”, Etrata never imagined that her dreams of becoming a beauty queen representing Bantayan Island would lead her here.
“It wasn’t really my plan to go viral like this before since I wanted to be at Miss Universe initially,” she said. “But I am so grateful and proud to be part of the Kapuso family.” — (FREEMAN)
