CEBU, Philippines —   Lapu-Lapu City’s premier pageant is back after a two-year absence due to the global pandemic, and like many returning events, it promises a grand comeback to further signal the Historic Resort City’s readiness to reignite its tourism.

The official 18 candidates presented through a media conference at the Waterfront Airport Hotel & Casino Mactan on Wednesday, October 26, are Iza Gail Latonio, Maria Eliza Balarote, Renee Gabrielle Branola, Jamie Javier, Kyla Espinosa, Shekinah Grace Toledo, Dahlia May Ruiz, KC Cheen Aying, and Sunshine Malingin.

Also vying to succeed Binibining Lapu-Lapu 2019 Kashel Abellar Serafica are Eumera Mariz Genodiala, Mary Jholeen Panugalingog, Cheron Kishes Co, Jasmin Jade Vergara, Mirasol Nicolein Tolosa, Lizlie Anne Dael, Christine Escanilla, Dyryn Lois Montesclaros, and Jerrel Mae Navales.

With Barangay Pajo Councilor Jasmine “Daday” Chan as chairperson of Binibining Lapu-Lapu 2022, Lapu-Lapu City lone district Congresswoman Cindi King-Chan, overall chairman of this year’s Fiesta Execom, calls the upcoming edition a “rebirth” of sorts.

Binibining Lapu-Lapu 2022’s coronation night is happening this November 20 at the Hoops Dome.
