CEBU, Philippines — “Tawag ng Tanghalan” alumni Janine Berdin and Sam Mangubat profess about their worries and exhaustion in the new single “PAGOD NA.”

Janine wrote the song in hopes of comforting the listeners who can relate to the emotion it brings. “I hope it brings reassurance that it’s okay to feel exhausted and encourage acceptance of the struggles life has thrown our way,” she said.

The electro-pop track released under Star Music was produced by Sam together with Xergio Ramos who also did its arrangement.

“Pagod Na” serves as Janine’s follow-up to her hit song “Pagod Na Ako,” which was released in November last year. Juan Karlos arranged and produced the relatable track.

Dubbed as the “Gem of OPM,” Janine rose to fame when she was proclaimed the grand winner of “Tawag ng Tanghalan” season 2. She has since released her debut EP “WTF I actually wrote these songs,” which earned 1.5 million streams on Spotify in the span of nine days. Janine also scored another hit with Adie on their song collaboration “Mahika” which topped the Billboard Philippines songs chart.

Likewise, Sam participated in the first season of “Tawag ng Tanghalan” and emerged as first runner-up. Following his stint in the noontime singing competition, he released singles “Bakit Nga Ba Mahal Kita,” “Zebbiana,” and “You’re Still the One,” each one with over 1 million streams on Spotify. Sam also regularly uploads cover songs on his YouTube channel which has over 700,000 subscribers and 100 million total views.
