Grander Miss Consolacion signifies ‘time for healing’

CEBU, Philippines — The search for Consolacion’s ambassadresses of hope and goodwill is back. Bigger and grander than ever, it aims to “redefine healing” and show through the pageant’s staging that the municipality is ready to reignite its tourism.

Candidates for this year’s edition were screened back in May, giving the organizing committee ample time to provide all 12 ladies with workshops, trainings and other meaningful pre-pageant activities as a lead-up to the October 28 finals to be held at the Consolacion Municipal Covered Court.

Back in June, Miss Consolacion 2022 finalists underwent a Personality Development Workshop with Dr. Mark C. Panugaling to develop their self-confidence and positive behavior. They then had a Q&A Workshop with Miss Consolacion 2018 Shara Angela V. Servande to further enhance their public speaking skills.

An Advocacy Building Session with Alvin M. Duazo was also held for the ladies, while another session on Communication, Social Graces, and Etiquette was spearheaded by Mary Rose Villacastin Maghuyop and her daughter, the reigning Miss Siliman University, Mayumi Mari V. Maghuyop. Lemuel Rosos and Richard Comision later on took charge in providing the candidates an intensive Pasarela Workshop.

The learnings didn’t end there as they were also given a tour of the different famous landmarks of the Poblacion – allowing them the opportunity to get to know Consolacion and its history even more.

They visited the Historical and Cultural Gallery inside the Consolacion Government Center, the San Narciso Parish Church, and the Old Municipal Building.

Vying to succeed Miss Consolacion 2021 Kiona Stroobants are Queenslette Jay Arcilla, Aila Crystel Espiritu, Caroline Christine Sodusta, Maristela Galla, Diomarie Fame C. Abragan, Ahfinnie Tenebroso, Faith Nicole Cawit, Alla Mae Caputolan, Othree Desierto, Cassandra Faith Belciña, Mary Divine Love Chie, Ainielyn Patindol, Stefanie Przewodnik, Jovelyka Marthi J. Baroro, and Jouah Mhie Villorejo.

Last September 25, the ladies had their Official Public Presentation and Poolside Swimsuit Competition at the Vista Verde Clubhouse located in Barangay Saksak. Candidate #10 emerged as Darling of the Press winner in this event which was graced by Mayor Nene Teresa Alegado, Vice Mayor Aurelio Damole, Councilor Lalinka Villo-Yu, and former mayor and Miss Consolacion 2022 Chairperson Joyjoy Alegado.

On October 9, the candidates returned on stage for the Fashion Show and Talent Competition at SM City Consolacion.
