Claire dela Fuente succumbs to cardiac arrest
CEBU, Philippines — Jukebox Queen Claire dela Fuente, 63, passed away yesterday morning due to cardiac arrest, her son Gigo de Guzman confirmed to ABS-CBN News
Gigo said her mom was in the hospital because she tested positive for Covid-19. She also had diabetes, hypertension and anxiety.
“...her tendency to stress a lot led her to weaken, and in her sleep her heart gave out,” said Gigo, who is also Covid-19 positive but is so far asymptomatic.
Among the singer’s OPM hits are “Sayang”, “Nakaw na Pag-ibig” and “Paminsan-minsan.”
Dela Fuente had been in the news the past months as she defended Gigo in the controversial Christine Dacera case. She also opened her home to the other men involved in the case who were financially strapped and shunned by their families.
