Capturing her allure

Capturing her allure

CEBU, Philippines — The many rules and guidelines in portrait photography have long been described as loopy – at times convex on solely focusing on the subject, at times concave in letting the background draw attention to the subject in question.

But for all of its ardent twists and meandering turns, the rules are very much consistent in tasking a photographer to do one thing: to capture a subject’s inner glow, her natural radiance and allure, so to speak.

In this year’s portrait photoshoots with the candidates of this year’s Binibining Cebu pageant, The Freeman’s content production team was challenged to capture a candidate’s inner glow within a handful of minutes – a condition which was neither overt nor subvert but simply was, given that there were 54 ladies to shoot in limited time.

Though not exactly the most ideal timeframe for portrait photoshoots for a photographer and the candidates, the following ladies rose to the challenge and worked well with the team to have their winning smiles immortalized into stills, ladies whom we foresee are the frontliners to bag this year’s Miss Photogenic award.
