BoybandPH gears up for 1st Cebu concert
CEBU, Philippines - BoybandPH – the quintet that continuously brings romantic excitement and good music to Pinoy television viewers – prepares for its first provincial concert after the group was formed last year at the culmination of ABS-CBN’s reality show “Pinoy Boyband Superstar.”
Bogo City, Cebu-native Niel Murillo will be coming home to give a musical treat to his Cebuano fans. He will be joined by his equally handsome and talented bandmates Russell Reyes, Ford Valencia, Tristan Ramirez and Joao Constancia.
The concert, dubbed as “BoybandPH Showoff,” will also feature Cebuana singer-performer Stephanie Lhui and the CYP Performing Arts on May 1, 7 p.m. at the Pinamungajan municipal auditorium.
Organized by CYP Productions, in cooperation with the municipal government of Pinamungajan and M-Talents and Events, the show is one of Lamac Multipurpose Cooperative’s (LMPC) offering during the nightly activities in preparation for the fiesta celebration in honor of its patron saint Sta. Monica.
BoybandPH recently released its self-titled debut album, with their hit-single “Unli” continuously doing well on the airwaves. The album also includes original songs “Boyfriend” and “Magmamahal” and their winning song “We Made It,” as well as Depeche Mode’s “Somebody.”
“BoybandPH Showoff” executive producer Justine Lynn Limocon and director Carlee Alferez said that they conducted an online survey to find out which artist the residents from the Midwestern town of Cebu would like to watch in a concert. The choices were the ASAP Birit Queens, Hey Joe Show, JaDine and BoybandPH.
“Netizens have spoken. They want to see the newest boyband which brings kilig, happiness and excitement to all girls and gays here and abroad. I hope Cebuanos will not miss this rare chance of watching these cute men perform live,” Limocon said.
LMPC already brought to Pinamungajan several performers in the likes of KZ Tandingan, Darren Espanto, Ethel Booba and Carlos Agassi, among others. General manager Ellen Limocon shared that it is the coop’s contribution to the municipality’s zeal of making Pinamungajan the entertainment capital of the Midwest.
Tickets, which are limited in number, are available in all LMPC branches and are priced at: P100 (general admission), P200 (free seating), P500 (reserved seat), and P1000 (VIP seat, plus a chance to win an overnight stay for two at the Hidden Valley Mountain Resort).
Tickets will not be sold in the concert venue. For questions, call Cheryl Balongcas at 0977-6825391, 467-8171 or 467-9045. (FREEMAN)
