Emily Ratajkowski regrets starring in ‘Blurred Lines’ video

CEBU, Philippines – Emily Ratajkowski may have gotten her big break after appearing in Robin Thicke’s notorious “Blurred Lines” music video, but the model-turned-actress has now admitted that she runs and hides when the song comes on in clubs and that she had to be seriously convinced to even appear in it in the first place.

The gorgeous model sparked controversy when she appeared naked in the video, with the song’s lyrics combined with her provocative appearance sparking a whole load of anti-blurred-lines campaigns and petitions.

Speaking to GQ magazine as she promoted her newest film “We Are Your Friends” starring Zac Efron, Ratajkowski admitted that if she was asked to be in the video again, she would say no.

She dished: “I think I’ve done enough nudity now that I don’t really need to do ‘Blurred Lines’ again. Like, if someone asked me to do it now, I’d probably say no.”

Which isn’t too surprising considering she originally hated the idea of the project, and had to be convinced to take the part by the video’s acclaimed director Diane Martel.

Ratajkowski  said of the video’s concept: “It was so bad. I was like, there is absolutely no way they could pay me enough money. I didn’t give a [expletive] that Pharrell wanted me in it. Because it’s me, and it’s me, so I don’t care who’s attached to it.”

“Then Diane and I just connected personally, she’s smart, she’s really culturally sensitive, and she talked to me about her ideas and how the women would be in the video.”

Now, two years after the song was released, the 24-year-old “Gone Girl” and “Entourage” star reveals that she still hides when it comes on, although often she confuses it for Marvin Gaye’s “Give It Up.”

She added: “I have to say, from someone who really knows the beginning of ‘Blurred Lines’ when it comes on, half the time it’s the Marvin Gaye song, but I’ve already tried to leave the place or hide.”

“Then it’s like, ‘Oh it’s the Marvin Gaye one, what was I stressing about?’ – they’re that similar.”

Which surely is something Robin and Pharrell, who were caught up in a lawsuit over the similarities between the songs, would absolutely not be happy to hear.
