Will Cebuano duo win the ‘Funny One’?

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The five grand finalists of It’s Showtime’s “Funny One” will pull out all the stops as they battle against each other in their last showdown in the hit segment’s grand finals today.

Which of the komikeros will be hailed the grand winner and will bring home P1 million – the lovable father-son tandem Crazy Duo from Cebu, veteran radio talent Gibis Alejandrino, Dabawenyo trio No Direction, stand-up comedian Ryan Rems Sarita, or wildcard winner Nonong Ballinan?

Armed with jokes and antics that are sure to entertain viewers, the five komikeros will also try to impress jurors Herbert Bautista, Joey Marquez, director Frasco Mortiz, and Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta.

During the course of the competition, the komikeros all underwent workshops under veteran comedians Bobot Mortiz, Leo Martinez, Gabe Mercado, Bayani Agbayani, and Vhong Navarro.

But this week, their talent was put to test as they were tasked to become jesters who would entertain the studio audience before the live broadcast of “It’s Showtime.”

Aside from that, they also underwent training in interviewing Abunda, from whom they got pointers in talking to Toni Gonzaga (for Crazy Duo), Alex Gonzaga (Ryan Rems), Marvin Agustin (Gibis), Jolina Magdangal (No Direction), and John Lloyd Cruz (Nonong).

In the end, which act will prevail and will be proclaimed the first-ever “Funny One”?

Don’t miss the grand finals of “Funny One” on “It’s Showtime” this Saturday (August 8), 12NN on ABS-CBN. For updates on the segment, visitfunnyone.abs-cbn.com, follow @funnyoneph on Twitter and Instagram, or like www.facebook.com/FunnyOnePH. (PR) (FREEMAN)
