Valentine weekend weddings for Heart and Yeng
CEBU, Philippines – The senator and the actress are now officially husband and wife.
Heart Evangelista and Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero finally tied the knot in a wedding ceremony held at the Balesin Island Club in Quezon.
The 30-year-old actress wore a wedding gown by Dubai-based Ezra Santos.
Heart walked down the aisle for the wedding march alone. Months before the wedding, the GMA-7 artist already revealed that her parents Cecilia and Reynaldo Ongpauco will not attend her wedding.
However, Heart’s other familiy members, including her sisters Mich and Camille Ongpauco attended the ceremony.
Chiz walked down the aisle with his two children.
Among the celebrities who attended the wedding include Lovi Poe, Solenn Heussaff, Carla Abellana, Alessandra de Rossi, Jennylyn Mercado, Jolina Magdangal and husband Mark Escueta, and Jaya.
According to reports, Heart and Chiz will spend their honeymoon in Japan.
A Manila reception following the Balesin wedding will happen this week.
Before the wedding ceremony on Sunday, Heart celebrated her 30th birthday on Saturday, Valentine’s Day.
Heart and Chiz have been a couple for over two years before tying the knot. The two first admitted they were a couple in 2012, months after Heart broke up with actor-model Daniel Matsunaga.
Chiz was married to Christine Flores for seven years. The politician admitted her marriage to Flores had been annulled in July 2012. Chiz and Christine have twins.
The relationship of the actress and the senator encountered a number of road blocks. Heart’s parents expressed their public disapproval of Chiz in March 2013. This caused a rift between Heart and her parents.
But Heart has since reconciled with her mother and father in 2014.
Chiz proposed to Heart in August 2014.
Meanwhile, multi-hyphenate artist Yeng Constantino added another role in her life on Valentine’s Day: that of a wife.
The ABS-CBN artist tied the knot with Yan Asuncion in a Christian ceremony held in Indang, Cavite on Saturday, February 14.
Yeng donned a white strapless gown by designer Albert Andrada. The singer-songwriter sported blonde braided hair on her wedding.
According to previous reports, Yeng and Yan expected 300 guests for the wedding in Hacienda Isabella.
Yeng also said she will sing her song “Ikaw” during the wedding’s reception. For the wedding march, former Sugarfree frontman and now solo artist Ebe Dancel sang “Una’t Huling Pag-Ibig.” Yeng previously said the song, which is part of her latest album, was written by Ebe based on her and Yan’s love story.
The two got engaged last February after a year of being in a relationship.
Immediately after the wedding, the couple will be spending their honeymoon in Maldives and the United States. – PhilStar News Service
