22 Tango Records’ Holiday Folk

CEBU, Philippines –  Happening on four Tuesdays in December, Holiday Folk will feature 22 Tango Records’ roster of artists as well as new acts discovered from Tono Tango, a singer-songwriter series that was launched back in August.

Folk City is the brainchild of 22 Tango Records, an established independent record label and home to some of Cebu’s finest singer songwriters and musicians. Through Folk City, the record label hopes to encourage a community that aspires to create original music with a deep sensitivity to songwriting and aims to develop an appreciation for original music to a new niche of local music listeners.

As Cebu’s music scene is highly populated with indie-rock and acoustic cover acts, Folk City provides a venue for those who do not belong to specific cliques or categories. This includes electronic acts, digital and modern folk acts and singer-songwriters.

Last July 2014, 22 Tango Records released a Folk City compilation album featuring 13 tracks from different artists in Cebu and other parts of the world. Running for almost two years now, it is grateful for gaining the support of Cebu IT Park and The Walk.

Celebrate the holidays with 22 Tango Records at 8 p.m. every Tuesday at The Walk in IT Park Cebu.
