‘Biyahe ni Drew’ explores Gigantes Island

CEBU, Philippines - Have a stress-free and relaxing weekend as “Biyahe ni Drew” visits the breathtaking island of Gigantes in Iloilo this Friday.

Considered as a perfect hideaway, Isla Gigantes is a hidden paradise situated in the municipality of Carles, Iloilo.  With a limited supply of electricity and cellphone signals, tourists can enjoy being one with nature most of the time.

Since the island can be explored in less than an hour, program host Drew Arellano kicks off this week’s travel with his Biyahero Run.  For its island-hopping adventure, Biyahe ni Drew’s first stop is Tangke, a saltwater lagoon famous for its clear water that tourists can enjoy all day for free.

Gamay Island, meanwhile, offers cliff diving and rock scrambling for more adventurous travelers, while other tourists can try the cove of Gakit-gakit Island. “Biyahe ni Drew” also visits Bakwitan Island, which served as evacuation center of local residents during World War II.
