About time Sarah flaunts her love

It seems that Sarah Geronimo and Matteo Guidicelli are no longer hiding the real status of their relationship although both of them have yet to admit that there is really something going on between them.

While Sarah didn’t say anything about her lovelife when she was asked about it at the presscon of her latest movie “Maybe This Time” (where she is paired with award-winning actor Coco Martin), a picture was posted in Facebook by Ryan Agoncillo which showed Sarah and Matteo together with Ryan and Judy Ann Santos.

The photo was taken in a practice session for a car drifting event held on Sunday morning, May 18. Sarah came to the event with Matteo as her companion, with Mommy Divine whom we saw on Friday at the press launch of “The Voice Kids” held at The Fort in Taguig City.

It’s about time that Sarah enjoys the feeling of being in love. She is already of age and should be allowed to accept suitors. She is not getting any younger so it is but proper that she gets the chance to meet and mingle with the opposite sex. It’s about time that Sarah gets a love life that she will be proud of and something that she will not hide.

Sarah was exceedingly beautiful when she attended the 45th Box Office Entertainment Awards held on Sunday at the Grand Ballroom of Solaire Resorts Hotel where she received three awards. Aside from being named box-office queen for the movie “It Takes A Man and A Woman” (where she was paired with John Lloyd Cruz), she was also voted as Female Concert Performer of the Year and Female Recording Artist of the Year.

It was Sarah’s third box-office queen title from the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation. The three movies that she did with John Lloyd were big hits at the box-office and there could another one forthcoming if Sarah’s movie with Coco will also make a big splash at the box-office.

Aside from “The Voice Kids,” Luis Manzano said he is set to do two new hosting jobs for ABS-CBN. One is a new show and the other is a previous show which he already hosted. 

With regards to his plan of entering politics, he said he would probably make his decision in a month or two. He has yet to meet with certain important people to discuss with them his plan to throw his hat in the political arena. His mom, Governor Vilma Santos and the rest of his family supports his plan but Luis says he wants to be sure of himself before he takes the plunge.

His girlfriend Angel Locsin also supports his plan to enter politics but she just smiles whenever she is asked by Luis what she thinks of the idea of becoming a First Lady.

Opening today in select theaters is the gay love story cum romantic comedy “#LabYu” which stars indie actor Miko Pasamonte and newbie actor Albert Goza. This is directed by Jill Singson Urdaneta who used to appear in indie films as well. This is his directorial debut. He also wrote the script whose situations were based on actual experiences of his friends.

We asked Direk Jill to talk about his experience working with his two actors, Miko Pasamonte and Albert Goza. “At first I thought it would be difficult to work with them because Albert Goza is also a newbie in the industry. He hasn’t done anything on film before or in front of the camera. Miko Pasamonte, on the other hand, has done several films and it’s my first time to direct a full feature film so I thought we’d have problems but as we progressed with the production, we got along very well with each other and we’re all actually friends now,” narrated Direk Jill.

Did he have a hard time directing them most especially in the scenes that had nudity? “To tell you honestly, yes I had difficulty because I am very conservative. Although I’ve done sexy films before as an actor but in real life, I am very conservative. So while we were doing the sexy scenes I was kind of hesitant and I was the one who was very tense. Our actors were really naked on the set while we were shooting but they were so comfortable with their own body so I think that helped, and I was lucky to have them because they were really good and very professional. As a result, most of the love scenes turned out to be my most favorite parts of the movie because they did it with such passion and professionalism.”

On his expectations of “#LabYu” and how he thinks the LGBT community will accept it, the director said, “I know in my heart that the audience will get to appreciate this film, not only the LGBT community, but everyone can relate to this. I know that at some point when they watch this film they would tell themselves ‘That’s me!,’ ‘I experienced that,’ ‘It happened to me,’ ‘That’s true!’”

“After all, love is a universal language,” he continued. “It knows no gender, age, race, color or sexual preferences so that message alone is reason enough for anyone who will watch this film to put themselves in the character’s shoes and relate it to their lives while being entertained because let’s not forget our goal here is to entertain. That is my advocacy also as a filmmaker: I want to entertain while educating.”
