Hollywood stars in the Philippines

CEBU, Philippines -  Gabriel Macht, known the world over as legendary law practitioner Harvey Specter in the provocative US television drama “Suits”, arrived in the Philippines last March 8 to visit Ormoc, Leyte.

His visit is made possible by Globe Telecom, in fulfilling its commitment of building a wonderful and resilient Philippines through its Project Wonderful nation-building efforts by helping typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) survivors in Ormoc City.

Bringing global attention to its commitment to livelihood, Project Wonderful is hoping that through the support of a high-caliber actor such as Macht, more support will come in months to come.

“Witnessing the devastation of typhoon Haiyan, I felt compelled to raise awareness and financial aid to help thousands of people still struggling to get back on their feet. There is so much work still to do. I’m excited to be a part of rebuilding and I’m hoping that so many more will join the effort,” Macht said.

Meanwhile, international celebrity Paris Hilton arrived yesterday in Manila for the inauguration of her real estate project in the country.

According to a press release, the heiress is taking her first step in the international real estate market with the Paris Beach Club. She partnered with Century Properties, one of the country’s leading developers, and she recently tweeted, “[I am] so proud and excited for my first real estate property to be opening this week in the Philippines! [I have] always dreamed [of following] in my family’s footsteps.”

The project is located on the sprawling Azure Urban Resort Residences, which sits adjacent to the Makati central business district and which will be launched on Thursday, March 13. Hilton assisted in designing the Azure complex, which features a man-made beach, a cinema, several restaurants, a spa and health facilities and recreational areas.

The 33-year-old socialite, entertainer and businesswoman became famous a decade ago thanks to her reality show “The Simple Life” and her foray into movies and music.

Hilton is scheduled to tour the city, as well as attend photos shoots and a press conference, among other activities. She visited the country in 2011, when Century Properties Group announced the real estate project with the celebrity. – Philstar.com
