What Jennifer Lawrencehas in common with Katniss

CEBU, Philippines - Jennifer Lawrence explains in the November issue of Empire magazine what she has in common with her “Hunger Games” character Katniss Everdeen.
“It’s hard to say you identify with someone who’s facing life and death and war. It’s not like, ‘Oh my God that’s, like, totally how I feel.’ But there is the connection in that she doesn’t feel like just part of the town anymore. Now everyone treats her as a celebrity...Whereas she still feels like she’s part of them.”
Lawrence catapulted to superstardom after landing the highly coveted role in the film franchise and continued to quickly achieve critical acclaim after starring alongside Bradley Cooper in “Silver Linings Playbook.” The rest is Academy Awards history, after Lawrence took home the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in the flick, instantly becoming one of the most-buzzed-about and beloved A-listers.
“I get that a lot,” she said while discussing whether people treat her differently now that she’s a big screen star. “I’ll go to get a coffee where I always get coffee and all of a sudden there’s this weird mood, and I’m like, ‘Come on, I still get coffee here, just say hello.’”
Lawrence is well known for her humble attitude, a rarity in Hollywood, and her “Hunger Games” costar Liam Hemsworth recently said that “nothing has gone to her head over the last few years,” adding that “you wouldn’t even know” she took home the coveted golden statue last year.
“Well, of course I changed,” she joked when asked if she’s become more of a diva on the “Hunger Games” set. “I told them, ‘Things are going to be a little different around here from now on.’”
“I just constantly feel so lucky, that I don’t really have time to feel cocky. I was raised to have value and respect for money, even though you have a lot of it.”
“My family is not the kind of family that would ever let me turn into an a—hole or anything like that, so I am fortunate to have them,” she added, noting that she stays away from the celeb scene and hangs out with people “who know me, like my close friends who I have known forever and my family obviously.”(FREEMAN)
