Miss Badian Tourism 2013 attracts pageant regulars
CEBU, Philippines - This southwest municipality already holds one of Cebu’s popular tourist destinations, but the officials of Badian hope more people will discover their place’s other sceneries and in the process, attract more visitors and investors. And what better way to kick off their tourism campaign and lure a crowd, be it local or foreign, than through another beauty pageant!
Miss Badian Tourism 2013 was launched to the media Saturday night at the Robinland Tower, and a few names on the candidates’ list should be familiar to local pageant devotees.
The 15 finalists are Jennibeth Delfin, Mikee Kristine Beltran, Lawrence Casas, Aiko Rachelle Sanchez, Janica Burasca (Ms. Olive-C Campus Model 2012 Cebu Leg winner and Ms. Philippines Earth 2012 finalist), Karen Kate Jagdon, Mhon Theress Menaling (Ms. Mandaue 2013 fourth runner-up), Bea Clarisse Raboy, Angie Lee Sanchez, Cristal Jane Lacida, Maria Cassandra Yu (Miss Mandaue 2012 third runner-up, Sinulog Festival Queen 2013 third runner-up and Ms. Olive-C Campus Model 2013 second runner-up), Arianne Mae Manquiquis, Mary Precious Chee, Anna Mae Paes and Jaya Lozano.
There will be tree planting and feeding activities for the candidates on July 7, a Talent Night on July 16, while the coronation night will be on July 24 at the Badian covered court.
The winner will be tapped to help promote Badian tourism.
Badian is famous for Kawasan Falls, a must-see for its three-layered waterfalls. Its other tourist offerings include the Cebu International Golf and Resort, the Badian Island Beach Resort and Spa, Lambug Beach, the Terra Manna beach and camping resort, the Badian mountain range and the popular trekking destination of Osmeña Peak.
