GMA Regional TV celebrates a milestone

CEBU, Philippines - GMA Regional TV held a special Local Sales Partners’ Night last Friday at the Manila Room of Marco Polo Plaza to thank Cebu corporate partners who’ve helped them reach another milestone this year.

Aside from a sumptuous romantic movie-themed buffet and a delectable chocolate spread by Ralfe’s Gourmet Chocolate Boutique, guests were also treated to raffle draws of cash prizes.

The program was hosted by long-time Kapuso talent Chynna Ortaleza, with entertainment provided by pop balladeer Mark Bautista and the always well-applauded singing trio La Diva.

In her speech, GMA TV Cebu station manager Ann Marie Tan recalled that when GMA Regional TV was born seven years ago, their mandated task was to deliver the numbers both in ratings and revenues.

While their efforts didn’t result to instant success, Tan was proud to report how their consistent hard work paid off yet again this year, as 2012 posted their highest sales revenue to date.

Which was why they felt it fitting to thank “the people behind the success of GMA Regional TV” because their “priority is to make our partners happy.”

GMA 7, Inc. AVP for Sales and Marketing Oliver Amoroso, in a separate speech, also shared how years back, they were lucky to stage at least four Cebu mall shows in a year. Fast forward to 2012, the giant network has events in Cebu almost every other weekend, not to mention similar promotional events held in other regions all over the country.

The past Saturday alone saw three simultaneous Kapuso mall shows scattered in different areas of Cebu — one in Gaisano Grand Mall of Carcar, at SM City Consolacion and another one in Gaisano Grand Mall of Mactan — featuring some of the network’s most prominent talents.

GMA 7’s numerous regional events come in the form of barangay meet-and-greets, fiesta collaborations, interactions with the local press, mall shows and medical missions. Last month also had some GMA artists visiting the three print media outlets of Cebu.

But the network is not about to rest on its laurels. Regional TV officers promised a “more exciting and massive” 2013 with their planned series of events.

Not only did they announce more visits and collaborations, they are also set to produce local entertainment programs that will bring out the best of every region reached by GMA 7. (FREEMAN)
