Lloydie, Angelica fly to France

SHOWBIZ DRIBBLE - Salve V. Asis - The Philippine Star

John Lloyd Cruz and Angelica Panganiban are off to Nice, France. They’re there supposedly to entertain Kapamilya fans in Europe. A flimsy excuse, if you ask me.

The two haven’t officially declared that they’re on, although they’ve been dropping broad hints lately. Lloydie insists it’s not the proper time to declare their intentions. But get this: he is said to have gifted Angelica with a P5 million Mercedes Benz. And Angelica is wearing a ring Lloydie gave her which she is gushing over in her Instagram account.

Now if that’s not a sign that something serious is going on between the two of them, I don’t know what that is.

Lloydie’s movie with Bea Alonzo, The Mistress, opened in theaters last week, and Star Cinema is making sure its promotion doesn’t have any distractions.

Speaking of The Mistress, the film reportedly grossed P23 million on its first day.

Lian Paz has confirmed that her four-year marriage with Paolo Contis is coming to an end.

They’re still living together, in their newly built house in Pasig City, Lian said, but Paolo will move out after he returns from the US where he is doing a Manny Many Prizes show.

It was a bad case of miscommunication, she said.

Paolo often fell silent and Lian wondered if he was angry or was wrestling with a problem he was keeping to himself.

Last August, things got worse. Paolo stopped talking to her altogether.

It came to a point where Paolo told her, “Let’s call it quits. It’s not working anymore.”

“He said we are good parents but we cannot be good partners.” Lian and Paolo have two daughters, Xonia Aitana and Xalene Abriana.

“I pleaded with him, because I love him very much and I want to keep our family together.”

In the end, Lian said she had to accept and respect Paolo’s decision. But she’s not closing the door. “Anytime he wants to come back, I’m willing to give him another chance.”

They haven’t talked about their arrangement once they break up. “We’ll discuss it when he returns from the US.”

Meanwhile, Lian keeps herself busy with her work as the media relation officer of a PR company and her role as the mother of Edgar Allan Guzman in the TV series Enchanted Garden.

Britney Spears bared her fangs as the new talent judge on The X Factor, prompting sharp-tongued Simon Cowell to dub her the “Queen of Mean.”

Britney dished out nasty remarks to the contestants.

But Britney’s nastiness didn’t push the X-Factor’s rating past that of The Voice and America’s Got Talent.
