Also joining Bibeth are the many personalities as they look back into the significant and colorful life in the more than eight decades in the life of Tito Dolphy.

Veteran actor-director Eddie Garcia was the only choice of Director Jun Lana to play the lead role in “Bwakaw,” one of the Cinemalaya entries for Directors’ Showcase category. Fortunately, the multi-awarded actor-director liked the script and agreed to do it despite minimal talent fee.

They had a grueling ten-day, non stop shoot in San Pablo, Laguna. At times, they wind up shooting at 2 a.m. then they resume work three hours later. But there was nary a word of complaint from Manoy Eddie. The veteran actor was professionalism personified.

As the work progressed, Direk Jun Lana saw how dedicated Manoy Eddie is towards his job as an actor. He saw how much Manoy Eddie loves his profession, passionate as he is with his work. And mind you, he does not have a PA to attend to his needs. He does everything on his own.

Manoy Eddie has a dog for his companion in the movie “Bwakaw.” He had to undergo training with the dog so they could develop rapport with each other. It is important that he has a rapport with the dog since he has a lot of scenes with it and the dog’s role is important in the movie.

“Bwakaw” marks the return of Manoy Eddie to the indie film scene for Cinemalaya although he had appeared in a Cinemalaya entry before.

Kapatid Network TV5 had a star-studded launching of their three new shows held at Elements@Centris on Tuesday night.

Most of the cast members of the three programs were there. What was not nice though was that some of the stars disappeared after they were presented to the members of the media, which was really surprising.

Featured in “Enchanted Garden”, an eco-fantasy about mother nature, are Alice Dixson, Ruffa Gutierrez, Rufa Mae Quinto, Zoren Legaspi, Gladys Reyes, Edgar Allan Guzman, Martin Escudero, Victor Silayan, BB Gandanghari, and Alex Gonzaga among others.

But after the show was presented to the press, Ruffa, Alice, and Zoren were all nowhere to be found. Rufa Mae did not attend the presscon because she was sick, same with Edgar Allan Guzman who was still recuperating after being confined for dengue. He also did not attend.

Ruffa probably left because she did not want to be asked about the issue involving her mother Annabelle Rama and movie writer Chito Alcid which happened at the wake of Comedy King Dolphy.

Since Rufa Mae was not around, the press was unable to ask her about her exit from Wiltime Bigtime and about her controversial house on the United States supposedly owned by a political figure.

On the other hand, talent manager Manny Valera was looking for his ward, Zoren, because he has to sign a contract that Direk Manny had brought with him. The talent manager cum director was surprised when he learned that Zoren had left.

Going back to the show, “Enchanted Garden” has an early evening slot which is 6:30 p.m. TV5 says they want to change the viewing habits of the Pinoy by putting an eco-fantasy series and pit it against news programs.

Directing Enchanted Garden are Joel Lamangan, Eric Quizon (who is on leave at the moment because of the death of his dad) and Bb. Joyce Bernal.
