Rufa Mae Quinto to transfer to another network? + Boy Pick Up: The movie

When Rufa Mae Quinto announced that she’s quitting Showbiz Central, many wondered if she really wanted her Sundays back or there could another reason why she wanted out of the GMA 7 Sunday afternoon showbiz talk show.

The sexy star posted this on her twitter account to answer questions if she is going to transfer to another network as an aftermath of her decision to quit Showbiz Central: “To those asking if I would be transferring to another network, I still don’t know because it’s my manager who does the negotiation when it comes to my contract.”

Then she followed it up with another posting “Right now, I am still with GMA. I am still with Bubble Gang.” But she added that she will be appearing as guest in Wiltime Big Time (although she used the old title Willing Willie in her posting). She also added that she will be appearing in ABS-CBN soon.

“Kung puwede nga freelancer para here, there and everywhere. Siyempre Kapuso pa rin ako. Kapuso sa puso ko, always and forever,” continued her tweets.

Rufa Mae hopes that wherever she goes and whatever she does, she expects her family, friends and fans to support her. “Whatever happens, it will be God’s will,” she tweeted.

Rufa Mae is one of the original cast members of the long-running gag show Bubble Gang and if she leaves GMA 7, then she would also be saying goodbye to the award-winning gag show and her long-time friends.

Himig Handog, the country’s premiere songwriting competition returns to the music scene this year to once again discover talented composers whose works are set to be the next OPM classics.

Now on its 5th year, Himig Handog paves the way for amateur and professional Filipino songwriters, here and abroad, to showcase their exceptional flair for creating beautiful music in any popular music genre or a fusion of known genres.

Himig Handog is Philippines’ first interactive multimedia songwriting tilt launched by ABS-CBN in 2000 originally to pay tribute to the overseas Filipino workers. It was then called “Himig Handog sa Bayaning Pilipino.” In its second year, it celebrated youth power through “JAM: Himig Handog sa Makabagong Kabataan 2001.” Then for the third and fourth tilts in 2002 and 2003, it opened its doors for the romantic lyricists in “Himig Handog Love Songs.”

Interested composers can now start preparing for their possible love song entries as the official announcement of “Himig Handog 2012” contest mechanics draws near.

The movie Boy Pick Up, starring Ogie Alcasid, is a joint venture of Regal Entertainment and GMA Films. The movie, which is based on the character that Ogie popularized in Bubble Gang, also features Sam Pinto as Neneng B (B as in Bakit).

But we heard that Ogie requested that his fellow co-stars in Bubble Gang be given cameo roles in the movie. So we will also see Michael V, Rufa Mae Quinto, Maureen Larrazabal, Antonio Aquitania, Boy 2 Quizon, Jackie Rice, Gwen Zamora and Ellen Adarna in Boy Pick Up.

The Boy Pick Up segment in Bubble Gang is the newest craze among the viewers of the top-rating GMA 7 gag show. The segment is so popular that even youngsters are making their own pick up lines to impress their own friends and indicate that they are very much attuned with the times.

Playing Ogie’s leading lady in Boy Pick-up is Solenn Heussaff. The movie is directed by Dominic Zapata.
