2012 looking good for Jovit Baldivino, Khalil Ramos

- AJ de la Torre -

CEBU, Philippines - They say success doesn’t come to you, you should go to it. But if you’re as talented as ABS-CBN’s rising stars Jovit Baldivino and Khalil Ramos, success will find its way to you.

After joining ABS-CBN's popular talent show Pilipinas Got Talent, everything has been working out well for the two stars.

Both were in Cebu last January 15, where they were guest performers for Pop Superstar Angeline Quinto’s concert in Waterfront Hotel, Lahug.

In an interview with The FREEMAN, Jovit gushed that until now he is not yet used to having fans, but he’s grateful that a lot of people appreciates his talent.

During his audition for PGT, he amazed the judges and the audience with his powerful voice and later on touched the hearts of many, even making Ai-Ai de las Alas cry, by saying that all he wanted was to share his talent to the people.

Jovit was the first ever winner of PGT season 1 and all throughout the show, he was constant in his performances, reason for him to get more than enough votes and support from PGT viewers.

From then, he has released two albums. The first album went to triple platinum and the second went to platinum. This year, he will be releasing the third album which he hopes would get the same amount of support.

Aside from singing, Jovit finished his acting workshops with ABS-CBN and would be facing some acting stints this year. He shared that he still has to work on dramatic roles but he is comfortable with action and comedy roles.

Despite his hectic schedule, Jovit has maintained his long-distance relationship with a non-showbiz girlfriend who is now in Canada to study. The two have been together for a year and a half.

He also shared that he is closest to Pinoy Dream Academy second prize winner Bugoy Drilon, whom he said is the person in showbiz he can talk to about anything, including personal problems.

As for 15-year-old Khalil Ramos, the talented young star is making his way up with projects left and right.

He was an early favorite when he auditioned for the Season 3 of the talent show due to his young mestizo look and deep full singing voice, great for alternative and rock songs.

Though not winning the grand prize, Khalil has got a good year ahead of him starting off with a teleserye with Kathryn Bernardo, Enrique Gil and Daniel Padilla entitled “You’re always in my heart.”

When asked how he feels about being tagged as the “Justin Beiber of the Philippines,” he said he is flattered but not pressured because he has something different to offer from the popular American artist.

Khalil shared that showbiz has been so good to him so far and he has not encountered any bad intrigues but says that he has gotten a lot of advice that he needs to be ready with it.

“I’ll cross the bridge when I get there.”

Both artists said that they look forward to this year, especially in other opportunities to perform in Cebu. (FREEMAN)
