Up Close & Personal: Sergaye Coley G. Soria

CEBU, Philippines - “Do your best and God will do the rest” is one of Coley’s favorite quotes. This she believes will help her bring success in life. Coley is Sergaye Coley G. Soria. She said that a strong faith in God helps us face all the problems we encounter in life.

Coley is a Bachelor of Science in Nursing student in University of Cebu-Banilad. According to Coley, to finish her studies is the greatest gift she can give to her beloved parents. Coley wants to become a world-class nurse not only in the Philippines but also abroad. She would be one of the global Pinoys who bring honor to our country.

Coley started to join beauty pageants early last year. She was one of the beautiful ladies who competed for the Ms. Talamban crown. She said that Ms. Olive-C Campus Model is her first prestigious pageant. She used to model in a hair coloring fashion show where she won. She was also one of the selected nursing students in UC- Banilad to compete in Ms. Nursing 2010.

Coley admitted that joining Olive-C campus model search this year is a good decision because she has learned a lot from the pageant. Most of all, she has developed her confidence which is very important in life. She also wants to represent her campus and become a good example especially to the youth.

Jayson Albert Macion

CEBU, Philippines - Jayson Albert Macion is 20-year-old male candidate number 9 in Mr. Olive-C Campus Model 2011. He is a Nursing student in Misamis University who dreams to become a musician. Of course, he also wants to become a successful nurse.

 In the meantime, Jayson focuses on modeling. He is new to beauty pageant. And the search for Mr. Olive-C is his first.

“I decided to join this pageant because I believe that I have the qualities Olive-C is looking for as an endorser. I take good care of my skin by eating healthy food and I exercise everyday. I also make it a point to have a good sleep,” Jayson said.

Jayson is one of the male bets who could win the title this year where stardom begins with pimple-free and blemish-free complexion. Jayson describes himself as a hyperactive type of person. He loves hiking and mountain climbing.

Jayson also loves to read books, play the piano and cook pasta and grill steak. He also wants to become an action star. His favorite book is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Jayson promises to himself that one day he will travel and witness the wonders of the world. And Egypt is the first place he will visit to see the pyramids.

Jayson explained that he is a well-organized person. He makes plans ahead of time. He is also proud to say that he values time. He never arrives late in all his appointments. He always makes sure that he is on time. These qualities, Jayson averred, will help him bring success in life.

Chuck Orillaneda

Chuck Orillaneda is our male candidate number 10 in Mr. Olive-C Campus Model 2011. He is a Bachelor of Fine Arts major in Advertising Arts student in University of San Carlos-TC.

Chuck was one of the official candidates in E-mall Campus Model 2010. And he admitted that he is enjoying the world of wit and glamour.

But, of course, the number one priority of this young hopeful is his studies. Chuck has high respects for our national heroes and hopes to share their legacies through visual arts.

Chuck is a young visual artist. He likes to create artworks like charcoal painting. He also likes to travel and has a huge interest in photography. In fact, aside from his dream to become a model, he also wants to be known as a photographer.

According to Chuck, art is very important in life. He said that everything comes with art and life is boring without it.

“Art teaches us how to appreciate the many different things around us,” Chuck explained. He describes himself as an obedient son. Although we can’t avoid making decisions for ourselves, Chuck makes sure that he still follows what his parents say.

Chuck likes to hang out with his friends and share a good laugh with them. But he knows when to be serious especially when it comes to responsibilities. Chuck said that he is lucky to be part of the 10 finalists in this pageant since there were more than 20 of them who were screened. He hopes to win the title this year to represent Cebu in the nationwide search in Manila.

Maria Carmina Campued

Maria Carmina Campued is our female candidate number 10 in Ms. Olive-C Campus Model this year. Carmina is very happy to know that she was chosen to replace the candidate who backed out.

 “I never had second thoughts to accept this opportunity when it was offered to me. I am thankful that I am one of the candidates in this prestigious search since this is really my dream. It is the right time for me to come out from my shell. This time, I will prove to those who do not believe in me that I have what it takes to be a beauty queen,” Carmina explained.

Carmina said that all the negative comments she heard about her will never bring her down. Rather, this serves as her inspiration and the courage to face the real world.

“I will only think of the positive side instead,” she added.

Carmina is a graduating Nursing student in the University of San Jose Recoletos. Nineteen-year-old Carmina was one of the candidates who competed in last year’s USJR Nursing Next Top Model. Although she did not win the title, she is happy to bring home the Most Friendly Award.

True, Carmina is very friendly. She describes herself as a real friend who will always be there in good times and bad. She is also a very respectful woman. She cares for the people from different walks of life. Carmina remains an obedient daughter even though her parents are separated. This does not affect her values in life.

This pageant will serve as a springboard to fame to all the hopeful candidates. Carmina loves to surf the Net and she texts a lot. She also describes herself as music lover and coffee addict.

Carmina believes in the words of Augustine who said, “No one succeeds in raising another to the height where he/she stands, unless he/she steps down somewhat towards where the other is.”
