CEBU, Philippines - No, said the popular anchor, she’s just taking a vacation, crushing the rumor in an interview with her radio copilot Ted Failon.
Pinky is signing off from Tambalang Failon at Webb after one-and-a-half years, a decision that surprised Ted and the program’s staff.
“I’m going to miss all of you,” she said at the close of the program last week. “Ted, thank you so much for mentoring me. I learned a lot from you. We’re going to definitely see each other again.”
Ted pressed Pinky on why she’s quitting the program. “Are you moving to another channel? Are you going to be a Kapatid?”
“No. I’m staying in ABS. When I return I will have a different schedule.”
Pinky did not say why she was quitting radio or what her new schedule would be. Tambalang Failon at Webb used to be Tambalang Failon at Sanchez until Korina Sanchez left to join her husband Mar Roxas on the campaign trail last year. Mar ran for vice president but lost.
Ted goes solo on the program beginning tomorrow. (FREEMAN)
